School of Marine Science, University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne

Tropical Coastal Management, MSc and Diploma

Marine biotechnology brings with it wider responsibilities, for impacts it has and sustaining it in an environmental context. The Newcastle School of Marine Science & Technology has run the unique internationally-recognised MSc programme in Tropical Coastal Management since 1987.

This programme provides a strong research- and business-driven environment for students to maximise their employability and impact in this broad field, through its own expertise, and external inputs from business, agencies and NGOs. For a detailed prospectus click here or contact Ann Bridges direct (a.e.bridges@ncl.ac.uk, Tel 0191 222 6661).

Treasures from the Sea

The documentary Treasures from the Sea is now available.  It is a documentary of 50 minutes and was financed by the European Commission and is about research and education in marine biotechnology.

In this program are interviews with people from the Food and Bioprocess Engineering Group, Wageningen University, NL.

There will be 5000 copies distributed to high schools and universities all over Europe.  Further details can be found on the web site http://treats.uib.no/lang4/rep.htm.
